COVID-19 puts routine childhood immunization in Pacific in danger

(VOVWORLD) - UNICEF warned on Monday that the COVID-19 pandemic is putting routine immunization of children in Fiji and other parts of the Pacific in danger.

UNICEF said it is seeing a decline in child vaccination as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause fear and uncertainty.

UNICEF’s Pacific Representative Sheldon Yett said that healthcare disruptions caused by COVID-19 could have a devastating impact on child mortality if mothers fear taking their children to be immunized.
