(VOVworld)- Three Czech political parties signed an agreement on Monday to form a center-left coalition cabinet, a further step towards a government since last November’s election.
The three parties are the Czech Social Democratic Party (CSSD), the Czech ANO, and the Czech Christian Democratic Party. Under the agreement, Czech Social Democratic Party leader Bohuslav Sobotka will serve as Prime Minister, returning his party to power after nearly eight years of center-right rule in the Czech Republic. After being approved by the three parties, Sobotka, must now clear a final hurdle of convincing President Milos Zeman to confirm his cabinet. According to analysts, Zeman, who used to be a member of the CSSD party, may not accept some of the candidates appointed by Sobotka to the new cabinet.
