Deputy FM visits OVs in Russia

(VOVwold) – Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thanh Son met with overseas Vietnamese in Russia on Tuesday to brief them on Vietnam’s current status, its relations with the international community, the lives of overseas Vietnamese, and their contributions to the homeland. Son, who is also Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, hailed the close connection to the homeland of Vietnamese living in Russia and other countries around the world.

He said: "We have recently organized activities for overseas Vietnamese, especially those in the US, to get them involved in activities inside Vietnam. The Party and State have reviewed the overall strength of Vietnamese living abroad. It is stronger than ever before".  

Son expressed his hope that local Vietnamese will strengthen their solidarity, do more charity work, and participate more in social and cultural activities in both Vietnam and Russia.
