Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Truong Son said the outbreak is under control with new suspected infections being detected, quarantined, and tested.
Deputy Minister Son, who heads the Health Ministry’s special working group in Da Nang city, said the fatality rate is reduced because frontline hospitals in Hue and Ho Chi Minh city have been deployed to treat critically ill patients. He said, “The medical staff the Ministry of Health sent to Da Nang are an elite force and professionally competent. It’s good news that many patients no longer need ventilator and will be supported to recover.”
But Mr. Son warned of complacency because of the raging COVID-19 in the world and its complicated developments in some other localities of Vietnam.
