(VOVWORLD) - An exhibition called “Hanoi – Vitality and Belief” opened on Tuesday at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, part of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the capital city’s liberation on October 10, 1954.

Dr. Nguyen Anh Minh, the Museum’s Director, said the event will run through October 22, adding, “On display are 70 works of painting, graphic art, and sculpture featuring Hanoi, selected from the museum's modern art collection. These pieces feature diverse materials and rich artistic language, vividly and authentically reflecting the vitality and strength of the capital city.”
In addition, according to the museum’s leader, as Hanoi is the place where President Ho Chi Minh spent the longest time, no matter how busy he was, he took the time to visit and encourage ordinary citizens, soldiers, workers, and children.

Among many works featuring President Ho Chi Minh are “Uncle Ho with Gia Lam railway workers” by artist Pham Van Lung and “Uncle Ho visits a first-grade class” by artist Do Huu Hue, said Dr. Minh.
In conjunction with the exhibition, an Art Talk program called “Master Painter Nguyen Tu Nghiem - Connecting Traditional Aesthetic Values with the Contemporary” will be held on Saturday. Nguyen Tu Nghiem was born in Nghe An province in 1918 and died in 2016. He was one of Vietnam’s most famous painters.
