Hanoi marks Vietnamese Physicians’ Day

(VOVworld) – Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan attended a meeting in Hanoi on Thursday to mark Vietnamese Physicians’ Day and the 60th anniversary of the city’s medical sector. She presented the sector the first class Labor Medal.

Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien called on the municipal health department to further improve the quality of check-ups and treatment. The department was encouraged to apply advanced technologies to put its hospitals on a par with central healthcare facilities and develop the grassroots-level medical network.

Earlier Hanoi’s Youth Union and Young Physicians’ Association held a meeting entitled ‘Hanoi Young Physicians’ Association learns and follows President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings and voluntarily works for the community’ to review the volunteer movement and set missions for this year.

The association plans to continue organizing practical emulation programs.
