(VOVworld) – Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen met with the mayor of San Francisco city, the US, Wednesday to discuss a program for economic cooperation between the two cities to 2020.

Both sides pledged efforts to enhance bilateral relations and contribute to the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the US. During a visit, a Ho Chi Minh city delegation led by Tuyen attended a number of trade and investment promotion events, met with overseas Vietnamese enterprises, and called for more foreign investment in Ho Chi Minh City.

The delegation attended the opening ceremony of Semicon West 2016, an annual event for the global microelectronics industry. The event gathered 700 leading firms from the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, Germany, and Singapore, who displayed their new microelectronics products beside products manufactured at the Saigon Hi-tech Park in Ho Chi Minh City.
