(VOVworld) - A ceremony was held on Sunday in Ho Chi Minh City to commence the first phase of the project to upgrade the 130-year-old municipal People’s Court building.

The building, constructed in 1881 in Ben Thanh ward, is one of the three typical architectural structures of the city, together with the headquarters of the municipal People’s Committee and the municipal Post Office. It was recognized as a national architectural relic site in 2012. The first phase of the project, which will include repairs on the roof and interior, is expected to be completed in under a year.
