Improving medical examination and treatment in Ho Chi Minh city

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Saturday worked with leaders of Ho Chi Minh city’s People’s Committee on ways to reduce overloading in local hospitals. Prime Minister Dung reiterated the Party and State concern for people’s healthcare and said that all available sources should be mobilized to help reduce overloading in hospitals.

Prime Minister Dung said: “Priority should be given to reducing overloading in hospitals specialized in cardio-vascular, tumor, injury-plastic surgery, obstetrics, and pediatrics while improving medical check-ups and treatment at provincial, municipal and satellite hospitals. Training and technology transfer should be conducted at lower level hospitals.”

Prime Minister Dung said the government will consider an amount of 500 million USD to build an Obstetrics Hospital and a Tumor Hospital, second branch, which is expected to be completed and operational by 2015.
