India treasures ties with Vietnam- Photo: Anh Huyen

(VOVworld)- Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Thi Hoang Van on Monday praised the development of Vietnamese-Indian friendship and the exchanges of visits between the two countries’ leaders. Van was speaking at a reception in Hanoi for Pallab Sengupta, India’s Politburo member, Head of the International Committee of the Communist Party of India and Secretary General of the All India Peace and Solidarity Organization. Van said she believed that Mr. Sengupta would contribute to fostering bilateral ties. The Indian representative said his visit to Vietnam was to prepare for the Vietnam-India Friendship Festival to be held in India in 2015. This biennial event has been held since 2007 in rotation between the two countries, aimed at strengthening mutual understanding between the two peoples. Mr. Pallab Senupta said that India treasured and would do its utmost to foster its ties with Vietnam.
