Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh have agreed to strengthen comprehensive relations, particularly in national defense and space science.

Singh told reporters following their talks on Monday that the cooperation in space science was established when India began its space program and since then has been expanded. Singh expressed his pleasure at the two countries working together to produce satellite launch pads. The leaders exchanged views on nuclear energy and safety and agreed to tighten trade ties with priority given to fertilizers, drugs, heavy machinery, information technology, and mining.
