(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-India Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh city co-organized a meeting to mark India’s 65
th Republic Day.
Attending the event were leaders from the municipal authority and the Indian Consulate, Indian business people, and students in Ho Chi Minh city.
President of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association, Huynh Thanh Lap, said that with strong economic and national defense potential and advanced technology, India had enhanced its position in Asia and the world.
Indian Consul General, Deepak Mittal, expressed his delight at the progress in Vietnamese-Indian relations. Two-way trade is expected to reach 7 billion USD in 2015. He revealed that the Indian Consulate was working to establish closer cooperative ties between Ho Chi Minh and Mumbai city this year.
