(VOVworld) - The Democratic Party (PD) and the centre-right Forza Italia of former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi have reached an agreement on the new electoral law. Both sides reached the consensus on Wednesday to break the country’s political deadlock due to former electoral law’s consequences.

The agreement came just a few days after Matteo Renzi, the new President of the PD, announced that the government might collapse at anytime if the law is not passed. Italian press says that the announcement forced opposition leaders within PD to support Renzi.
