(VOVworld) - People from Libya's 3^rd largest city of Misrata cast their ballot Monday in the election of municipal Council members, the first vote since Muamar Gaddifi’s regime collapsed. Residents were picking the 28 new members of the Misrata city council, who will have the tough job of rebuilding a city of around 300,000 people. Misrata was besieged by elite Gaddafi forces for months and bombarded with mortars, shells and rockets.
