(VOVworld) – The construction of Lung Po flag pole where Red river flows in Vietnam began on Saturday in Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province on the occasion of the 85^th founding anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

The construction work is significant in affirming national border sovereignty and educating young people on national pride and promoting local tourism. Lung Po flag pole is 41 meters high and covers an area of 2,100 square meters. It holds a 25 square meter Vietnamese flag representing 25 ethnic minority groups in the border mountainous province of Lao Cai. The 1^st phase of the construction work is scheduled to finish in December.
