Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung addressed the meeting


(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has praised Vietnamese media’s contributions to national development. Speaking at the 7th National Press Award Ceremony and the meeting to mark the 88th anniversary of Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day in Hanoi yesterday, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung urged Vietnamese journalists to bring into full play their fine tradition to contribute to the implementation of Party and National Assembly resolutions and government’s management measures. He stressed the importance to reform ways of communication and further strengthen the movement of following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. Prime Minister Dung says: “Press needs to better and more accurately discover and criticize bureaucracy, corruption, waste, negatives and social evils in order to contribute to preventing the degradation of political ideology and morality. Press should play a key role in fighting against distorted and fabricated viewpoints that attempt to undermine the country.

This year, the National Press Award Council presented 117 outstanding prizes. Radio the Voice of Vietnam has won 9 prizes at the National Press Award. They include 2 A, 2 B, 2C and 3 consolation prizes.
