Meeting of former Soviet Union military specialists

(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Party, government, and people will always bear in mind the enormous assistance, contributions, and sacrifice of the Soviet people during Vietnam’s two resistance wars. Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Pham Xuan Son made this remark yesterday at the 43rd meeting of former Soviet Union military specialists who helped Vietnam. Ambassador Son expressed his confidence that the meeting will help to cement Vietnam-Russia relations. Senior Lieutenant General Anatoli Khjupenen, President of the Air Force Veteran’s Association said: "This worthwhile event will forever stay in our hearts. Such people-to-people activities are important in strengthening diplomatic ties. I hope our countries’ leaders and all of us here will do our best for Vietnam-Russia friendship development."

Participants observed a minute of silence for those specialists who passed away last year, then spent some time recalling memories of their time in Vietnam.
