(VOVworld) – A meeting was held in HCM City on Sunday to mark the 37^th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification Day, and the 126^th International Labor Day.

Addressing the event, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan said that the values of the Vietnamese people’s struggle for national liberation day with the great victory in Spring 1975 remains eternal. He added that the key to the victory is the strategic leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the creative application of Marxism-Leninism. “37 years ago, the Party and people of HCM City have contributed a great deal to the great victory in Spring 1975 with a strong fighting spirit, ingenuity, and bravery. We now live up to the that heroic tradition by exerting our best efforts to develop and defend the city. “For the country and with the country”, HCM City is determined to weather all difficulties and challenges to unite to accomplish all set targets,” said Chairman Quan.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Party and State leaders presented distinguished titles of Hero of Armed Forces, Independence Order, HCM Award to organizations and individuals. HCM City was recognized as leading city in the emulation campaign between 5 central cities nationwide.
