(VOVworld) - A delegation of Myanmar’s Upper House, led by its Speaker Khin Aung Myint, has left Hanoi, concluding their official visit to Vietnam. During their stay from June 20th to 24th, the delegation held talks with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung. They also met Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong and President Truong Tan Sang. The Vietnamese leaders all spoke highly of the visit, which they believed would mark a new period of development in the cooperative ties between the two countries’ National Assemblies. Both sides agreed to increase political, diplomatic, and socio- economic exchanges, especially the exchange of high-level visits. Both sides propose the early establishment of the group of friendship parliamentarians and boost the cooperation the two NAs, laying a firm foundation for expansion of bilateral ties between Vietnam and Myanmar. While in Vietnam Myanmar Upper House Speaker Khin Aung Myint paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, visited the Presidential Palace’s relic site, Bai Dinh pagoda, Ha Long Bay and worked with Quang Ninh province.
