Deputy Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said Vietnam values its relationship with the US and wants to foster it. Ms. Ngan made the remark at a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday for Susan Schwab, former US Trade Representative. Schwab attended a seminar on free trade agreements held in Hanoi the same day by the National Assembly External Affairs Committee and the US Agency for International Development. Ms Ngan reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to global economic integration, reflected in its current negotiation toward a Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. Schwab said she was satisfied with the progress being made in the negotiations, and said she will continue doing all she can to promote bilateral trade relations.
