In a meeting with the newspaper on Friday, Mr. Hung said in the international integration and development process, Vietnamese newspapers are political tools to disseminate the Party’s guidelines and orientations. Hung said: "The People’s Representative newspaper should serve the National Assembly and People’s Councils. It has to make clear the National Assembly’s political ideology, organization, and responsibility to the people and the principle of the Vietnamese State belonging to the people, of the people, and by the people. The newspaper’s staff should comprehend these contents and express them in their reports. So the readers understand that the National Assembly is the highest authority to decide national issues."

Mr. Hung noted that 2014 is the first year to implement the new Constitution. The newspaper has to communicate to bring the constitution to life. The newspaper should also collect public opinions for the National Assembly’s law-making process.
