Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Auckland will move to Alert Level 3 from midday Wednesday with bars and many other businesses closed. Citizens are asked to stay at home.
Some countries have asked citizens to wear masks in public. Since Monday, people in Ireland have had to wear masks in shops and supermarkets. Face masks are compulsory in crowded areas for French citizens in Paris and 4 satellite provinces: Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne, and Val d'Oise.
According to worldometers.info, the world had recorded 20.5 million COVID-19 cases with 750,000 deaths. The US remains the world’s epicenter. New infections have been reported in Spain, France, and the Netherlands, raising fears of a second wave this autumn.
