(VOVworld)- The Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission and the Steering Committee for the Central Highlands on Monday reviewed the 5-year implementation of the Party resolution on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas in the Central Highlands region. The delegates agreed that the living conditions of people in the region have improved considerably thanks to Party and State investment. However, it was important to raise awareness about and level of the scientific application of agricultural production to improve people’s lives. To this end, all sectors and agencies need to get involved in order to find specific solutions. Vuong Dinh Hue is a member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party’s Economic Commission: “It is important to find appropriate models to help farmers utilize their land. As stipulated in the resolution, it is necessary to solve land related issues, reserve sufficient land for the ethnic minorities and ensure that they can earn living from their land”.

Thanks to the resolution, the agricultural economy, farmers’ lives and rural areas have improved dramatically. Agricultural production value totaled nearly 94 trillion dong last year, up 29% against 4 years ago while the poverty rate has fallen sharply. Over the past five years, more than 43,000 houses have been built in the central highlands for the poor, ethnic and social beneficiaries, 78,000 people have been provided with vocational training and nearly 99,000 jobs have been generated.
