At a reception on Wednesday in Hanoi for Gerda Verburg, UN Coordinator of the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement, PM Phuc said Vietnam always coordinates closely with UN agencies on nutrition issues, citing the Party Central Committee’s resolution and the Prime Minister’ decree on nutrition. Phuc said Vietnam is ready to listen to all UN comments and hopes the UN will provide financial and technical assistance for Vietnam. PM Phuc called on the UN to strengthen nutrition cooperation with Vietnam while implementing the Millennium Development Goals and Sustainable Development Goals.

Ms. Verburg hailed Vietnam’s efforts to improve nutrition and said that nutrition should be included in the ministries’ commitments. She urged the government to call for public involvement and mobilize resources to achieve nutrition targets in remote areas.
