(VOVworld) – A conference to discuss youth development policies was held in Hanoi on Tuesday. A national report said young people from 16 to 30 years old account for 27.7% of the population.

Vietnam has progressed in youth development but has faced a number of difficulties in tapping their potential. Chief representative of the UN Population Fund in Vietnam Astrid Bant said Vietnam is in the period of a golden population structure, one of the driving forces for economic growth. She said, therefore, more youth policies are needed to give them equal opportunities for development.
