(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his belief that the visit by General Surapong Suwana Adth, Chief of Joint Staff of the Royal Thai Army, will contribute to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between two countries and armies.

At a reception for the Thai military delegation in Hanoi on Wednesday, Mr. Phuc emphasized Vietnam’s priority of developing ties with Thailand and other ASEAN members. Praising Thailand’s consistent stance on regional issues, including the East Sea, the Prime Minister said he hopes Thailand will continue to uphold its role and push for the implementation of the ASEAN Community’s goals. He reiterated the Vietnamese government’s support for the two armies to increase cooperation and for the two countries to implement their strategic partnership.
