(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Youth Development Strategy until 2020 has gradually upheld the role of young people in the current period after one year of implementation.

However, participants at a conference in Hanoi on Wednesday admitted that some policies haven’t matched the practical needs. They said many criteria set by the strategy haven’t been relevant to specific socio-economic development conditions of provinces, ministries, and sectors. Participants called for a synchronous implementation of measures to increase the effectiveness of the strategy in the future and promulgation of mechanisms and policies to encourage young people to be more involved in education and training, healthcare, and job generation. The conference is organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the UN in Vietnam.
