Quang Tri hosts requiem for fallen soldiers

(VOVworld) - The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha held a requiem this week in the central province of Quang Tri to pray for people’s peace and prosperity. The event also commemorated soldiers who lost their lives in battle near the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel and along Thach Han river. 3000 monks and Buddhist followers attended the requiem. 10,000 floating lanterns were released on Thach Han river to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers.

The organizing board used this occasion to present 100 gifts, worth approximately 50 USD each, to beneficiary families and disadvantaged students with outstanding academic performance.
