(VOVworld) - Andrey Klimov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Council of the Russian Federation, received Vietnamese ambassador to Russia Nguyen Thanh Son on Thursday.

Klimov, who is also Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the United Russia Party said  Russia considers Vietnam an important bridge connecting it with ASEAN and welcomes Vietnam’s investment projects in Russia. He said Russia deems it important to develop substantial cooperation with Asian-Pacific countries, including Vietnam. Ambassador Son said that Vietnam treasures its ties with Russia, and is ready to help Russia access markets in ASEAN. He said he hopes Russia will continue to support Vietnamese investors and the Vietnamese community in Russia.
