The Russian Foreign Ministry on Thursday expressed concerns that gunmen in Syria may be linked to Middle East’s terrorism movements. Deputy Spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said on the official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry that leaders of Jabhat al-Nursa movement have officially declared their loyalty to Al Qeada. Despite different ideologies, some opposition groups in Syria are fighting against the government army as “brothers” of Jabhat al-Nursa. Russia also expressed deep concerns that Al Qeada and small branches of Jabhat al-Nursa may be planning to turn Syria into a “source of strength” in the Middle East in the context of obvious coordination between rebel groups in Syria and Iraq. Moscow regrets that some of its partners have disregarded the involvement terrorist groups in the Syrian war. The Russian Foreign Ministry once again affirmed that Moscow opposes terrorism in any form.
