(VOVworld)- Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoygu today began a two-day visit to Vietnam at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart, General Phung Quang Thanh. This is Shoygu’s first working visit to Vietnam since he became Defense Minister last November. The visit is expected to boost the existing friendship between Vietnam and Russia and promote cooperation in military engineering. During his visit, Shoygu will lay a wreath at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs and pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi. He will hold talks with his General Thanh and pay a courtesy visit to President Truong Tan Sang. He also plans to visit the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Centre and Naval Zone 4.
