(VOVworld) – The Committee for Drafting the 1992 Constitution Revisions on Friday held a seminar on the organization and performance of the Constitutional Council model in some countries.

The Committee said that ensuring the ultimate position of the Constitution in the legal system and all social entities as well as respecting and abiding by principles defined in the Constitution is a concern of many countries including Vietnam. In order to form a mechanism to protect the Constitution, the draft revised Constitution has stipulated the establishment of the Constitutional Council. The Committee has compiled a reference book on Constitutional Councils in some countries, detailing the Council’s organization and how it protects the Constitution. The Drafting Committee will draw lessons for building a mechanism to protect Vietnam’s Constitution.
