Syria's opposition will not enter into dialogue with the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, the country's newly elected Prime Minister Ghassan Hitto said Tuesday in Istanbul. Hitto also said that Assad’s cabinet members will be on trial once the opposition takes power. On Monday, the Syrian opposition group which calls itself the Syrian National Coalition chose an interim prime minister, after an hours-long meeting in Istanbul. There were 12 candidates for this seat, including economists, businessmen, and a former Syrian minister. Ghassan Hitto, a US citizen, was elected.
