Its international status and favorable geographical position will help firms grow into large corporations with international stature, Mr. Lam said while attending FrancoTech 2024, a Francophone business forum on innovation, as part of his trip to Paris for the 19th Francophonie Summit and an official visit to France.

The Francophonie space, boasting a population of more than 1.2 billion people and accounting for 16% of the global GDP and 20% of global trade, has been a potential land for economic and investment cooperation and trade exchange, according to the top Vietnamese leader.

He spoke highly of the forum which focused on AI, energy transition, human capital, logistics and food security and innovation. These are key issues of interest to Vietnam, with a young and dynamic population as well as a rapidly developing digital economy, said Mr. Lam.
