At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ regular press conference held on Thursday, spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang answered reporters' questions about China's recent deployment of coast guard vessels to Vietnam’s Tu Chinh Reef, saying that Vietnam’s stance on Tu Chinh Reef is consistent and has been repeatedly affirmed.
Vietnam resolutely opposes all actions that violate its sovereignty in general or its sovereign rights and jurisdiction over its maritime zones in particular, which have been established in complete accordance with international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
Ms. Hang said Vietnam is currently and will persistently protect its legitimate rights and interests at sea by peaceful means in line with international law.
