Ukrainian President asks the opposition to join the government

(VOVworld) – Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych has offered the post of prime minister to opposition leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk. He also offered Vitali Klitschko, the leader of the opposition party UDAR and the position of deputy Prime Minister. However, the two leaders have not yet made their answers. Speaking to the press, Yatsenyuk said he has not agreed nor accepted the President’s proposal.

He announced that the opposition will be responsible for Ukraine’s fate but under their conditions. He also confirmed that the opposition still remains their request for an early presidential election this year instead of in 2015 as planned.
In related developments, protestors on Sunday occupied the authorities’ headquarters in 12 provinces and blocked headquarters of 4 in the total of 27 provinces and cities across the country.
