The UN Economic and Financial Committee has approved a resolution to acknowledge Palestine’s sovereignty over natural resources in the territories occupied by Israel. The resolution asks Israel to stop exploiting and destroying natural resources in occupied Arab territories including Jerusalem city and Golan Heights. The UN General Assembly also called on Israel to cease any act which damages the environment and infrastructure such as pipelines and waste water system. A UN representative stressed that the resolution will create new international pressure asking Israel to abide by international laws, UN resolutions and stop occupying Palestinian territories.
