Jeremy Laurence, the office's spokesman, raised concerns about compliance with the laws of war, particularly the principles of distinction and proportionality. The UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Food Programme (WFP) also appealed for additional funding to meet the growing humanitarian needs in the region, where escalating violence has displaced tens of thousands in both Lebanon and Israel.

At the same time, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman called for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon to address the worsening humanitarian crises.

They also discussed strengthening bilateral ties. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan urged the international community to impose sanctions on Israel to prevent the continuation of the conflict.
