Acting Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long emphasized that the gift marks the bilateral cooperation for the health sector and prevention of Covid-19.
US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel Kritenbrink said the world is impressed by Vietnam’s strategy and proactive measures in tackling Covid-19, but this serious disease remains a threat in Vietnam and the world. The donation delivers on the US’s offer of these critically needed supplies, and supports Vietnam’s urgent response to the pandemic. The ventilators were produced in the US with advanced technology for easy operation.
In addition to the ventilators, the US has committed 9.5 million USD to Vietnam in response to the pandemic, which is helping to strengthen clinical care, disseminate health messages, build laboratories, improve disease surveillance, and support private sector recovery.
