A US official said if Libya lists in detail the weapons they need to fight IS and which meet the UN Security Council’s requirements to lift sanctions, the Council will consider this request seriously. The US and its European allies want to strengthen the unity government’s armed forces. Loosening the arms embargo on Libya was discussed by US Secretary of State John Kerry and European Foreign Ministers in Vienna on Monday.
