Attending the event were Caitlin Wiesen, UNDP Resident Representative in Vietnam, and Cho Han Deog, Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam.
Addressing the function, Cho Han Deog said the gifts reflect the affection and solidarity the Korean people feel for the Vietnamese.
Over the years, KOICA has funded multiple projects in Quang Binh province to defuse unexploded mines and bombs, and help explosion survivors reintegrate into their community.
Nguyen Dinh Lam, a UXO survivor from Dong Son hamlet in Bo Trach district, said: “We are glad to receive support in disarming bombs and mines. After their fields are cleared of bombs and mines, people feel much safer farming.”
