(VOVworld)-Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has urged Vietnam and Italy to strengthen bilateral ties in economics, trade and investment. At a meeting with Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzidi Sant’Agata in Hanoi on Wednesday, the Prime Minister called on the Italian government to provide Vietnam with Official Development Assistance in human resources training. He said the Vietnamese government will create favourable conditions for Italian enterprises to work successfully in the country.
The same day, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh also held talks with Sant’Agata. Minister Minh said Vietnam respects Italy’s position in Europe and the world and hopes to strengthen its friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Italy. "We’ve agreed to help both countries’ businesses find partners and research the market, especially in infrastructure, mechanical engineering, health care, environment and cooperation between SMEs. We are very happy to receive Italian businessmen at this time", said Foreign Minister Minh.

The two sides agreed to step up exchanges of delegations and increase two way trade turnover to 3 billion USD by 2013. They also discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern and pledged to strengthen their cooperation in regional and international forums.
