Vietnam wants to win additional spots in other events, including badminton, weightlifting, gymnastics, Taekwondo, and shooting.
Mr. Viet said the sports sector is creating the best conditions for athletes to practice and improve their performance to win tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics. Athletes will receive 1 million USD for winning a gold medal, 500,000 USD for winning a silver medal, and 200,000 USD for a bronze medal. Those who qualify for an Olympic ticket will receive between 2,000 and 4,000 USD.
The General Department of Sports and Physical Training recently cooperated with the French embassy to organize a workshop where physical training and nutrition experts helped coaches work out programs for athletes training for the Olympics.
