(VOVworld) – The ASEAN Life Science Conference in Bangkok this week focused on the role of the life sciences and biotechnology in serving life, and preparing for ASEAN’s integration and liberalization in 2015.

The 3-day event which concluded on Friday attracted the participation of ASEAN members, Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, and Australia. The Vietnamese delegation was led by representatives of the National Department of Information Science and Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Vietnam also attended an exhibition that introduced achievements in biological, pharmaceutical, and medical research and promoted future life science activities. Vietnam’s rice-gene research drew special attention from attendees.
