Vietnam, France cooperate in tertiary education

(VOVworld) – French and Vietnamese officials have approved a long-term plan on academic orientation, finance, and management of the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH). They were connected on Tuesday via the first USTH online meeting chaired by Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan, who is also USTH Chairman.  Participants focused on ways to promote management capacity, scientific research, and links with the industry sector to make USTH a reliable training center.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said at the conference that USTH is a key cooperative projects between Vietnam and France. France’s Minister of Higher Education and Research Geneviève Fioras said the French government will invest 100 million euros over the next 10 years into USTH’s development as stated in cooperation deal signed last December. The institution aims to train 3,000 students by 2020 and 6,000 by 2026.
