(VOvworld) -  Vietnam introduced a Public Administration Reform Index (PAR Index) in Hanoi on Monday. The Index will be the foundation for the government to comprehensively and objectively monitor, evaluate, and rank public administrative reform in ministries and provinces. Specifically, ministerial administration reform will be assessed under 7 criteria including administrative instruction and management, and institutional implementation.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said: "If the governmental apparatus has neither been aware of the important significance of administrative reform in socio-economic development nor identified prioritized activities in administrative reform, our work is just a formality without any real result. The Ministry of Home Affairs, other ministries, and localities should understand that besides the PAR Index, we have to concentrate on the content of administrative reform in different periods."
