At a working session in Hanoi on Thursday with the university’s directorate, President Sang emphasized the importance of pushing for breakthroughs to turn it into a modern university at the regional level.

He said “Vietnam’s key universities, including the Vietnam National University in Hanoi, should exert more efforts to move up in the international ranking instead of only listing among top 190 schools in Asia. In this way Vietnam’s industrialization and modernization can be successful.”

Mr. Sang asked the university to offer more help to the development of the Vietnam-Japan College, its new member, considering it a symbol of the bilateral friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
