Vietnam records 37 more cases of COVID-19
(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam on Friday evening reported 37 more cases of CVOID-19, of whom 26 cases were immediately isolated, 3 cases in Ho Chi Minh city, and 8 cases in Quang Nam, said the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Vietnam has to date had a total of 546 cases, of whom 302 imported cases were isolated immediately after their entry into Vietnam. New cases linked to Da Nang since July 25 has numbered 104.
Vietnam reported its first death from COVID-19 on Friday, a 70-year-old man with underlying kidney disease, hypertension, heart failure, and ischemia.
The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said that this is an extremely severe case due to the man's an advanced age and his multiple severe background diseases. There have been numerous consultations of the Treatment Subcommittee members and leading experts in emergency resuscitation, cardiology, and infectious diseases, in addition to intensive care and treatment of Da Nang Hospital and Hue Central Hospital.
