Vietnam records 9 new COVID-19 cases in Da Nang, Hanoi

(VOVWORLD) - On Thursday, 9 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed in Vietnam, all traced back to Da Nang city, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi recorded 2 new cases, a pizza restaurant worker in Tran Thai Tong street, Cau Giay district, and a resident of Hoang Hoa Tham street, Tay Ho district.

After 99 straight days with no community transmissions, Vietnam has suddenly recorded 43 new COVID-19 cases in Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Dak Lak, bringing the total to 459.

According to worldometers.info, there have been over 17 million COVID-19 infections and 670,000 deaths worldwide. The US remains the epicenter with 4.5 million infections and 153,000 deaths, followed by Brazil with 2.5 million infections and 90,000 deaths.
