Vietnamese Defense Minister Phung Quang Thanh visits Russia

(VOVworld)- Minister of Defense Phung Quang Thanh on Friday briefed Vietnamese correspondents in Russia on his visit and the military cooperation between Vietnam and Russia. Thanh said the two countries established a strategic partnership, in which cooperation in military technology and national defense has developed strongly. Minister Thanh’s visit to Russia was aimed at realizing cooperative agreements reached between the countries’ leaders, especially those on national defense and military technology cooperation. The two agreed on the importance of boosting bilateral cooperation to meet the aspirations and interests of their peoples and contribute to maintaining peace in the region. They reached a high consensus on signed arms purchasing agreements, under which Russia pledged to ensure quality, reasonable prices, maintenance services and accessories supply for Vietnam.
